Corral Fire Rages, Evacuations Ordered

Over 12,000 Acres Burned, Containment at 13%

Cause of Fire Under Investigation

The Corral Fire, which ignited Saturday afternoon near Tracy, California, has rapidly spread to encompass over 12,000 acres, with containment efforts standing at a mere 13%. The blaze erupted around 2:39PM near the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory and has since prompted extensive evacuations.

The fire's origin remains under investigation, but its relentless spread has led to the closure of a portion of Interstate 580 and the issuance of evacuation orders for nearby communities. As of late Saturday night, the containment percentage remained low, indicating the ongoing intensity of the fire.
