Rolfes and Tah criticize Leverkusen's defending after defeat

Rolfes calls for improvement

Tah takes responsibility
Captain Jonathan Tah also took responsibility for the team's poor defensive display. "We didn't play well enough today," he said. "We were too passive, and we didn't put enough pressure on our opponents."
Tah admitted that the team needs to improve its communication and organization in defense. "We need to work together better as a team," he said. "We need to be more aggressive and more compact."
Leverkusen's defensive struggles
Leverkusen's defensive struggles have been a concern all season. The team has conceded 30 goals in 17 Bundesliga games, the fourth-worst record in the league.
The team's lack of defensive stability has been a major factor in its poor league form. Leverkusen is currently 11th in the Bundesliga, 10 points behind fourth-placed Bayern Munich.
Need for reinforcements
Rolfes has admitted that the team needs to strengthen its defense in the January transfer window. "We need to add some quality to our squad," he said. "We need players who can help us improve our defensive record."
Leverkusen has been linked with a number of defenders in recent weeks, including Borussia Dortmund's Mats Hummels and Hertha Berlin's Dedryck Boyata.
